One of the longest running art potteries in the US before their close in 2012, Van Briggle celebrated its centennial year in 2000 by stamping pieces made during the first runs of the year with a special blue VB100* stamp.
This mulberry candlestick holder is one of those centennial pieces (see photo of page describing the stamp from the Van Briggle ID Guide). The matte-finished glaze fades from a blue-purple at the top to mulberry at the bottom.
Good vintage condition, with one small silver mark on the lower portion (see detail photo).
